About Us
Making Disciples and Training Leaders
to Advance the Kingdom of God.
“Our purpose is to impact the lives of men and women of God to enable them to influence others for the kingdom of God .”
At Advance Church Columbus, our purpose is to make disciples and train leaders to advance the Kingdom of God. Our goal is to equip every partner to share the gospel with anyone they encounter and all of our ministries are designed with this in mind.
Our seven ministry values - Ministry of the Word, Evangelism, Discipleship, Partnership, Prayer, Worship, and Giving - are the earmarks of our culture and worship experience. When you visit Advance Church Columbus, these earmarks will be so prevalent in our worship experience that you should feel compelled to participate and attracted to connect. These are the major pillars by which our ministry is founded and sustained.
Through true, meaningful relationships with one another, we see concrete examples of how to live out the Christian walk. We provide you the tools you need to become an effective Christian in every area of your life by focusing on spiritual growth and practical life application. The Word of God is made relevant to your everyday life. We demonstrate that the gospel is for real people.
Advance Church Columbus is a ministry with a non-traditional approach to the gospel. Although the message of the gospel never changes, we present it in a way that is easy for all to understand and to attain. Utilizing all forms of today’s technology, we spread the gospel around the world.
What We Believe
God
There is one God, eternally existing in three persons—the Father, the Son, and the Holy Spirit.
(Col 2:9, Matthew 28:19, John 1)
Jesus Christ
Jesus Christ, the eternal Son of God, became man without ceasing to be God. He was conceived by the Holy Spirit and born of the Virgin Mary, that He might reveal God and redeem sinful man. (John 1:1-14)
The Holy Spirit
The Holy Spirit convicts the world of sin, of righteousness, and of judgment by indwelling and sealing them unto the day of redemption.
(John 16:8, Acts 1:5, Ephesians 4:30)
The initial physical evidence of the baptism in the Holy Spirit is ‘Speaking in Tongues’, as experienced on the Day of Pentecost and referenced throughout Acts and the Epistles. (Acts 2:1-4)
Salvation
Salvation is the gift of God brought to man by only grace and received by faith and confession in the Lord Jesus Christ. Salvation is only available because the blood of Jesus was shed on Calvary for the forgiveness of our sins.
(Ephesians 2:8-9, John 3:16-17, Romans 10:9-10)
The Crucifixion & Resurrection and Ascension
Jesus Christ attained our redemption through His death on the cross as a representative and a substitutionary sacrifice. Our justification is made sure by His literal, physical resurrection from the dead. Jesus ascended into heaven and is now exalted at the right hand of God where, as our High Priest, He fulfills the ministry as Representative, Intercessor, and Advocate.
(Matt 27:31, 2 Cor 5:21, Mark 16:16, Acts 1:9)
The Scriptures
The Holy Scriptures of the Old and New Testaments is the inspired word of God, the final authority for faith and life, inerrant in the original writings, infallible, and God-breathed. (2 Timothy 3:16)
Catching Away of the Saints
The Lord himself will descend from heaven, crack the sky, call forth those dead in Christ, and transform those who are alive and take us to a city called heaven. (1Thess 4:16-17)
Water Baptism
Water baptism is a public sign of our identification with the death, burial and resurrection of Jesus Christ. (Acts 2:38, Romans 6:3, Gal 3:27)
Manifestations or Gifts of
the Holy Spirit
The manifestations/gifts of the Spirit are still present and in operation in the church until the return of Christ. (1 Cor 12:1-11)
